Jessica Burlew, an 18 year old girl diagnosed as schizoeffective and autistic, was held nearly two years in isolation in Estrella Jail awaiting conviction. She was charged with 2nd degree murder for the accidental death of Jason Ash, a 43 year old man who was sexually exploiting her as a 16 year old. After raising funds for a lawyer to take on her case and file for post-conviction relief, we are now trying to raise money for expert witnesses to testify. We are confident that with proper defense witnesses, we can greatly alleviate the 10 year sentence with no early release she received in October 2015.
